Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) technology facilitates the transfer of digital HD video for vehicles, utilizing its gigabit connection and high bandwidth. By transmitting the video signal without compression, GMSL ensures a real-time video feed without any delay on the monitor. GMSL can effectively bridge a distance of up to 21 meters; however, for distances beyond this range, alternative solutions are necessary. The Orlaco HLED monitor pairs seamlessly with the camera, offering optimal compatibility.
Stand alone system
GMSL systems are standalone solutions and cannot be integrated into third-party systems. This technology is primarily designed for standalone digital real-time camera applications. In contrast, Ethernet systems are preferred for smart applications and integration into third-party Ethernet networks and HMIs. In a GMSL system, the digital video signal is transmitted directly to the monitor without any intermediary processing, making it ideal for specific applications such as reversing cameras or blind spot cameras.
The Orlaco HMOS camera is a versatile solution suitable for various GMSL vision applications in machinery and heavy vehicles. Built to withstand harsh conditions, the camera is shock- and vibration-resistant and boasts IP68 and IP69K waterproof ratings. Its high-resolution capability ensures razor-sharp image quality in all weather conditions. The camera is available with lens angles ranging from 30 to 180 degrees and includes a specially designed adjustable holder for easy installation in any desired position.
